ResLife (Engagement)

UoN Services Limited (the U) are offering a 20 week (160 hours total) Industry Scholarship (ResLife, Engagement) worth $2880 for semester 1 2014, with the option to renew in semester 2 for a further 20 weeks. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Assist in the development and operational planning of student events and activities for and with all Student Residents.Assist with the promotion of events and activity program initiatives that consider the needs of the diverse Residential Community.
  • Assist with the creation of a Resident experience that enables participation and creates a positive sense of community within the Halls.
  • Assist in sourcing, developing and maintaining working relationships with sponsors and work closely with relevant stakeholders within the student body, UoN Services and the University.
  • Act as an advocate for UoN, UoNS, the ESIS Program, and its initiatives.

    THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP ARE:

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to engage with a wide range of culturally diverse residents.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office software MS Word/Excel/Outlook.
    • Demonstrated participation and interest in College events and activities.
    • Skills in evaluating, developing and implementing strategies for ensuring the successful operations of student focused
      activities and events.
    • Ability to manage workload effectively and autonomously.
    • A current resident of the University of Newcastle Colleges.
    • Current enrolment as a student of the University of Newcastle.
    • Ability to develop and coordinate own project.
