Community Garden
Semester 2, 2012 Saw new life sprout at UoN in the form of a Community Garden, bought to you by the U!
The green project was developed and bought to fruition by our committed ESIS Sustainability Scholar who were assisted by the rest of the ESIS Scholarship team as well as a dedicated team of volunteers from across the university landscape. These green thumbs have been working hard on a little plot of land that is hidden behind Oval 4, near Wollotuka.
Sprouting everything from sunflowers to Lettuce, to Rosemary and Tomatoes the garden is a sure fire gourmet hit.
If you’d like to help out with the UoN Services Community Garden, simply sign up to be a U Crew Volunteer, for more info just send us an email at campus-life@newcastle.edu.au.
The seeds have already been planted to start development on a community garden at Ourimbah. So if you've got a green thumb and study on the Central Coast you'll have your chance to eat fresh very soon.
